Our Farmers

We are currently partnered with 30+ growers from around the Pee Dee Region. These numbers will be increasing each season as we grow our volume of business. Please see below the Grower Profiles of a few of our growers. More will be added in the near future.


rabon_farmer_picHome Sweet Farm – Bayboro, SC

Home Sweet Farm is a small family farm in the Bayboro community of Loris, South Carolina, owned and operated by Miracle Lewis and Jimmy Rabon.  The operation farms about 10 acres of produce including strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, Dixie lee peas, and okra. In addition, they also raise beef cattle, goats, and free range chicken and eggs.


 

mcleod_farms_picMcLeod Farms – McBee, SC

McLeod Farms is a large family farm located in McBee, SC.  Owner Kemp and his son Spencer are the fourth and fifth generation of McLeod’s to farm the hills of McBee.  McLeod Farms, family owned and operated since 1916, offers fresh fruits and vegetables year-round.  McLeod Farms staple crop is peaches, as you will routinely see the Mac’s Pride brand all across the area during the summer months.


 

Winburn Farms – Aynor, SC

Winburn Farms is large family farming operation in Aynor, SC.  Glen, Paul, Randall and their children grow about 1500 acres of food.  The specialize in sweet corn, watermelons, zucchini and other produce.  They also have about 700 brood cows that helps their operation.


 

Willard Farms – Gable, SC

Jay Willard runs Willard Farms, a agritourism destination along highway 527 in Gable.  Willard Farms grow strawberries, sweet corn, peppers and heirloom tomatoes.  They also farm other row crops and have a chicken integrator operation.


 

Long Branch Farms – Cades, SC

Long Branch Farms is 500 acre farming operation run by Kevin Gowdy and his family outside of Lake City, SC.  Kevin specializes in growing greens that include kale, broccoli, collards, lettuce and more.  In addition, he also grows sweet corn, butter beans, watermelons and lots of other produce.


 

Bluefield Blueberry Farm – Loris, SC

Johnnie and Maxine Edwards run Bluefield Farms, a 40 acre blueberry operation along hwy 9 in Loris.  Bluefield produces excellent quality blueberries all along the Grand Strand and into North Carolina.

 


 

Jeff Dotson – Conway, SC

Jeff is a small, beginning produce grower along highway 19 in Conway.  Jeff is in his second year of production and is growing carrots, radishes, sweet potatoes and more.


 

Evans Produce – Aynor, SC

Spencer Evans runs Evans Produce, a small retail vegetable operation on his family farm in Aynor, SC.  Spencer grew up farming produce along side his granddad and has grown the operation to where it is today.  Evans Farms specialize in growing watermelons, tomatoes and squash.


 

Dupree Atkinson – Mullins, SC

Atkinson farms is a very diverse family farm in Marion County.  Dupree and his family grow everything from tobacco and peanuts to specialty produce such as strawberries, asparagus and more.  Dupree is great ambassador for agriculture in the Pee Dee region.


 

Hyman Vineyards – Conway, SC

Greg Hyman runs Hyman Vineyards off of highway 701 near Bucksport, SC. Hyman Vineyards specializes in muscadine grapes and wine, but Greg and his team also grow tomatoes, squash, okra, sweet potatoes and more.


 

Sheep Island Farms – Turbeville, SC

Sheep Island Farms off is a small produce operation right off of highway 378 between Turbeville and Lake City. David McKenzie and his team grow plums, melons, tomatoes, okra and more.


 

Jason Tyner – Darlington, SC

Tyner Farms is large row crop family farm between Darlington and Lamar. Jason has recently been producing a couple acres of tomatoes that he has been delivering to local grocers and restaurants.


 

McKenzie Farms – Olanta, SC

Stanley McKenzie has been running McKenzie Farms for over 20 years. Stan is a well known steward in the produce community and specializes in citrus trees that are uncommon in South Carolina. Additionally, Stan grows lettuce, squash, and lots of additional fruits and vegetables.


 

Ben Teal – Patrick, SC

Ben Teal as taken over his family’s tobacco farm in Patrick, SC and began adding produce items to compliment their operation. Ben will be growing Pontiac potatoes and green onions for the PDFH.


 

Tim Griggs – Hartsville, SC

The former collegiate athletic director for Coker College hasn’t slowed down since retiring as he is now farming full time with his dad and brother in Byrdtown. Tim grows tobacco and beef cattle, but will be adding fingerling potatoes to his operation for the FoodHub this Spring.


 

Dupree Atkinson – Mullins SC

Atkinson farms is a very diverse family farm in Marion County. Dupree and his family grow everything from tobacco and peanuts to specialty produce such as strawberries, asparagus and more. Dupree is great ambassador for agriculture in the Pee Dee region.


 

Baxley Farms – Mullins, SC

Steve, Neal and Gene Robert Baxley run Baxley Farms, a large farming operation in the Rains community. While the majority of their farm is tobacco and grain crops, the Baxley’s also grow sweet potatoes, kale, potatoes and other produce to distribute into local markets.


 

Bruce Price & Sons Farm – Dillon, SC

Sonny Price and his family run a row crop farming operation in Little Rock, SC. The Prices have always grown sweet corn for the local markets and have decided to work in conjunction with the PDFH to help market their corn into additional markets.


 

Roth Snowden – Marion, SC

Roth Snowden has been growing produce in Marion County for nearly 50 years. Still today, Roth still produces excellent quality onions, eggplant, okra and more.


 

O’Neal Farms – Darlington, SC

Doyle and Jason O’Neal farm grain and produce in Darlington, SC. Outside of row crops, they grow strawberries, bell peppers, butter beans and more produce on their operation. They look to continue growing their produce market with the PDFH.


 

Kirby Farms – Effingham, SC

Dickie Kirby runs Kirby farms in Effingham, SC where he grows about 15 acres of vegetables that include butter beans, peas, sweet corn and squash
